In this blog, I am going to report the progression of the Three Gorges Dam for this month especially the water level, the future weather in the Three Gorges Dam, News in China, and the petit information about the Three Gorges Dam together with the new video from the NISHIYAN CHANNEL DPD. Also, I am going to describe the 22nd Typhoon which heads to the Philippines and Taiwan. If you want to read the introduction, you can go to "The Progression of the Three Gorges Dam. -October-". All investors in the world who invested in China already should be concerned about the Three Gorges Dam and pay attention to it because it would be Xday if the Three Gorges Dam should be collapsing.
This is the detail of the introduction of the Three Gorges Dam:
I. The Progression of the Three Gorges Dam Up to the Current or December 24th.
In this paragraph, I am going to report the current progress of the Three Gorges Dam and news in China especially the water level. In the last month, the water level in the Three Gorges Dam reduced down little by little every single day. In addition, there were earthquakes upstream of the Three Gorges the last month in a row. Peng Shuai's scandal escalated itself more and more and people in the world asked each government and the world organization to boycott the 2022 Beijing Olympics because of this scandal.
On December 2nd, the water level in the Three Gorges Dam was 172,65 meters. Compared to November 30th, it reduced 36 centimeters. Three earthquakes occurred upstream of the Three Gorges Dam on November 18th, 21st, and December 1st up to the day. The first one was magnitude 4.9 on November 18th. The second one was magnitude 4.6 on November 21st. Then, the third one was magnitude 4.7 on December 1st. The seismic center of those earthquakes was the same. On December 8th, the water level in the Three Gorges Dam was 171.88 meters. Compared to December 6th, it dropped by 25 centimeters and was lower than 172 meters due to the dry season.
On December 12th, the water level in the Three Gorges Dam was 171.7 meters. Compared to December 10th, it dropped down by 10 centimeters since the outflow is too low and there is no rain. On December 14th, the water level in the Three Gorges Dam was 171.58 meters. Compared to December 12th, it dropped by 12 centimeters since it was a little rainy this month. There was another earthquake on December 10th. It was magnitude 4.4 on that day and the seismic center was almost the same place as three earthquakes on November 18th, 21st, and December 1st. On December 17th, the water level in the Three Gorges Dam was 171.41 meters. Compared to December 15th, it was nothing changed; however, Windy estimated that Typhoon Rai or the 22nd Typhoon which killed 208 Philippino people arrived in Hong Kong and Taiwan the next week. On December 19th, the water level was 171.27 meters. Compared to December 17th, it was 14 centimeters down and kept 171 meters from December 6th.
On December 21st, the water level in the Three Gorges Dam was 171.15 meters. Compared to December 19th, it was 12 centimeters down and keeps 171 meters. Indeed, sediment is one of the issues of the Three Gorges Dam. Mud and sand flow down slowly to the Yellow River and settle them down near the Three Gorges Dam. About 260 million tons per year will stop in the upstream area and accumulate year by year over a long span. The dam's water storage capacity will decline. Windy estimates that Typhoon Rai or the 22nd Typhoon is expected to change to low pressure and go through between Hong Kong and Taiwan. On December 23rd, the water level in the Three Gorges Dam was 170.85 meters. Compared to December 21st, it was 30 centimeters down and finally reached 170 meters range since there is less rain this year. According to the dam data, the water level goes up and down around 171 meters.
The reason why people must pay attention to earthquakes for two weeks is that there are three kinds of earthquakes. The first one is foreshock. A foreshock is an earthquake that occurs before a mainshock and is related to it in both time and space. The second one is a mainshock. It is the largest earthquake in a sequence. The last one is an aftershock. It is a smaller earthquake that follows a larger earthquake. Therefore, the earthquake near Chongqing on December 10 might be a foreshock. Then, there might be possible that a mainshock or a large earthquake occurs in 2 weeks. Visiontimes broadcasted that there was a magnitude 4.2 earthquake on December 22nd in Tianning, Changzhou, Jiangsu province. This earthquake also might be a foreshock. So, Chinese people must pay attention to a mainshock for two weeks just in case.
This is the detail of a foreshock, a mainshock, and an aftershock:
II. The Current of the Three Gorges Dam. (December 25th)
(If you are an English foreigner, can understand English, and want to watch this movie, Be sure to change the subtitle in this movie to English.)
On December 25th, the water level in the Three Gorges Dam was 170.71 meters at 10:00 am. Compared to yesterday, it was 12 centimeters down. The water inflow in the Three Gorges Dam is still low and 6200 cubic meters at 9:00 pm. Then, the water outflow is 6860 cubic meters at 9:00 pm. Compared to yesterday, it is nothing changed. There was a day when the outflow increased a little bit. Then, there was a movement to reduce it. It is still unclear what this tweak means. The dam data in Cuntan observation reported that the water inflow is still low as it is. It is still stable. The inflow at the upstream observatory is 5750 cubic meters per second and the Three Gorges Dam is 6100 cubic meters per second. Therefore, the total inflow from the immediate and southern rivers of the dam is estimated to be 350 cubic meters per second. When Nishiyan Channel checked the discharge at 10:00 am on December 25th, it was 6830 cubic meters per second at 10 am. It was estimated that the power generation in the Three Gorges Dam was about 23 percent at that time. The satellite, Sentinel finds out that the Three Gorges Dam is still strong at the moment, not soft. There are three facilities for hydroelectric power generation in the Three Gorges Dam. When you look at the satellite picture, you can see 5 blisters. There are 14 turbines. Then, 5 turbines are still used. There is a ship lock where 10 thousand-ton class vessels can come and go by passing through a height difference of 100 meters and using a five-tiered pool. There are no problems with water transportation because you can see the ships.
This is the detail of the dam data for the Three Gorges Dam:
III. The Future Weather Report around the Three Gorges Dam
According to Windy, rain clouds are expected to spread out around the Three Gorges Dam. Since the aster mark appears, it may be snowing in some places in China from December 25th to midnight on December 27th. Then, there will be another snowing on December 31st. Another snow cloudy shows up on January 2nd. The amount of rainfall and snow clouds are small and there will be no effects on the Three Gorges Dam; however, Chinese people must pay attention to a mainshock for two weeks just in case even if rainfall is small and weak and it is expected to be snowing.
This is the detail of Windy:
IV. Petit Information About the Three Gorges Dam
Some turbines may be broken at the Three Gorges Dam. Originally, there are a total of 26 turbines for hydroelectric power generation to install. It is 14 on the left and 12 on the right banks respectively. Each unit has a power generation capacity of 7 hundred thousand kilowatts. The amount of water required for all power generation is 25 thousand cubic meters per second. If it is simply divided by 26, one turbine must require 961 cubic meters per second.
The photo shows that employers are drifted by scaffolds to do something. It is still clear if they are inspecting with their eyes, but the Three Gorges Dam is very height. There are a lot of garbages at the bottom of this picture. You can see that the Three Gorges Dam is a huge structure beyond imagination.
