Feature Articles of Anime Characters and Games That China Copied

A Writer by Tomoyuki Aso

I hope to spread my blog around the world.

Hello people. This is Tomoyuki Aso. This time, I am going to introduce characters and games that China was coping with up to now. Many companies around the world were engaged in investment in China. Zang Qichao who is a Chinese equity capital expert reveals that the Chinese government persuades people to start their own business to merge with a foreign company, get technology, and become independent as their own company. As a result, they were able to build factories, facilities, technologies, permissions, products, and markets by performing this pattern for forty years. China is in the first line by copying and plagiarizing technology from foreign companies in the World without intellectual property rights and patented technology. As for the virus, it is original. That is why China is called Umbrella in the Resident Evil series in the current society. The plague came from China originally.

When I watched this movie, I understood that China was copying or plagiarizing anime characters and games freely without intellectual property rights and patented technology.

Characters

I. Hello Kitty

Originally, Hello Kitty was produced by Sanrio which is a Japanese company. It was created by Yuko Shimizu and was designed by Yuko Yamaguchi in 1974. It was based on a white cat; however, she collaborates with a human and a white cat and has a ribbon. Because she is pretty cute and is one of the famous characters in Japan, workers in Sanrio produced clothing, accessories, toys, games, books, and music albums to spread Hello Kitty out around the world; however, the fake Hello Kitty the Chinese government produced intellectual property rights showed up in Bajiao Amusement Park in 2007. Because of this trouble, Sanrio asked the Chinese government to investigate Bajiao Amusement Park; however, the Chinese government and the founder of the amusement park denied the copying scandal, objected to the offer, and claimed that It was original.

II. Doraemon

Doraemon is one of the famous characters in Japan and is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Fujiko Fujio who was a famous Japanese manga illustrator. The total series is 1465 stories. Then, all stories were created in original stories and were published by Shogakukan. Shogakukan broadcasted the anime of Doraemon from April 1st, 1973. The story is that an earless robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 22nd century to assist an elementary school boy named Nobita Nobi. Doraemon was the best-selling manga for children in the World and one of the famous manga in the world. The Fake Doraemon and Hello Kitty appeared at the same time in Bajiao Amusement Park in 2007.

Mickey Mouse is also one of the famous characters in the world. He was created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks who was the founder of the Walt Disney Company in 1928. Mickey Mouse is an anthropomorphic mouse who wears red shorts, large yellow shoes, and white gloves. The fake Mickey Mouse showed up in Bajiao Amusement Park. In addition, the entire park plagiarized Disneyland. Despite that, the founder of Bajiao Amusement Park claimed that Mickey Mouse was a cat, not a mouse, and Bajiao Amusement Park didn't plagiarize Disneyland.

These characters are part of them; however, China used to copy so many anime characters for instance they stolen Neon Genesis Evangelion, Miku Hatsune, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and so on.

Games

I. Puzzle And Dragons

"Puzzle And Dragons" are one of the smartphone games in Japan. It is a puzzle video game with role-playing and strategy elements developed and published by GunHo Online Entertainment for iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire platforms. "Puzzle And Dragons" is also a match-three puzzle game are required players to move and match colored orbs arranged in a grid.

Dragon's Attack- Dragon's Counterattack

China copied "Puzzle And Dragons".  The name is "Dragon's Attack - Dragon's Counterattack". The game system is very similar to "Puzzle And Dragons". The character scene and the combat scene are also the same as "Puzzle And Dragons". There are some characters who have the same status and skills as the original. Some characters in this game have the same appearance as "Puzzle And Dragons". Once in a while, the other popular anime characters in Japan such as "Yu-gi-oh" and "Fate Series" show up in this game. Some players criticized that they have no idea where to respond to this game, can not believe this game, and the developer for this game can not state that this is a coincidence on the internet. Indeed, there are so many games that plagiarized "Puzzle And Dragons" for example "Goryu Senki- Jewel Dragon" which is one of the plagiarized puzzle game and is based on dragon and puzzle, "Puzzle Kingdom" which is the worst plagiarized game for "Puzzle And Dragons" and was developed in Japan and so on.

Puzzle & Survival

Puzzle & Survival is a smartphone game that is distributed by 37GAMES which is a Chinese company in the last year; however, Puzzle & Survival plagiarizes Puzzle & Dragons. You can see people taking action for instance they solve a mysterious puzzle when you encounter an important scene, unlock the prison to rescue friends, get pistols and shields to beat zombies. In addition, you can see a meaningless advertisement for example a couple who kiss each other on a train together with a swimsuit is attacked by a thief and zombie, and when a man kisses his girlfriend in front of a TV,  Sadako appears from the TV and raids her. all patterns of advertisement include puzzle and adventure elements. The story is along with the advertisement that people in this game fight against zombies that emerged in a town suddenly in a collapsed town due to a mysterious virus. The genre of this game is a turn-type role-playing game. It is not action. The method to attack zombies is that you operate a colorful puzzle to arrange three or more puzzles of the same color in the vertical and horizontal directions. Moreover, there is a system in this game that there are attributes in allies' characters and zombies, and the number of damage changes depending on the compatibility of the attributes. Because of this system, Puzzle & Survival was deserted by many players since they complain that Puzzle & Survival is a game that imitates Puzzle and Dragons which just changed the character and worldview.

II. Splatoon

Splatoon was also one of the games that were plagiarized by China. It was developed and published by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development division for the Wii-U worldwide in 2015. Inklings who are fictional characters in this game can transform between humanoid and cephalopod forms and swim through colored ink sprayed on surfaces using various types of paint-based weapons to expand ink-based territory. Splatoon contains four-on-four online multiplayer and a single-player campaign.

Sepia Go!

China developed and released a game worldwide according to Splatoon. The game's name is "Sepia Go!". "Sepia Go!" was released in 2016. Chinese developers for "Sepia Go!" plagiarized the character, the graphic, and the music from the Splatoon series. Users on the Internet paid attention to this plagiarized game in a bad way. Because of that, "Sepia Go!" disappeared for a while since the 2016 open beta; however, "Sepia Go!" was released as an original title again in 2018. The new "Sepia Go!" changed the graphic to some extent and the contents including the characters and the music were called the deteriorated Splatoon. In addition, "Sepia Go!" could not have found the distributor and was distributed the application in Google Drive, but there was a rumor that your smartphone was infected by malware when you downloaded this game to your smartphone. Therefore, it might have been possible that the player's information was stolen by this deteriorated game. The players complained of this game that characters and the voice stolen from Splatoon, this game was terrible and the serious plagiarized game. Also, "Sepia Go!" pissed all people and media in the world off that it was a shameful act because this game let Chinese gamers down, this game was the explicit game, and the developer for "Sepia Go!" received the warning from Nintendo.

III. Monster Strike

Monster Strike is still one of the popular games in the world. It is mobile Japanese role-playing with elements of puzzle, strategy, and cooperative multiplayer and was developed and released to the current society by XFLAG for iOS and Android platforms on August 8th, 2013. Yoshiki Okamoto who was the designer for Capcom was in charge of the creation of Monster Strike. XFLAG made Monster Strike into the Nintendo 3DS in December 2015, an anime series in 2015, and an anime movie which was called Monster Strike The Movie was released on December 10, 2016. In addition, Monster Strike the Movie: Sora no Kanata which was a second anime movie was released on October 5, 2018, in Japan. Monster Strike the Movie: Despair Night of Lucifer was supposed to release in June 2020; however, it was delayed because of the pandemic of COVID-19. By October 2018, Monster Strike earned more than 7.2 billion dollars worldwide and surpassed Puzzle And Dragons to become the highest-grossing mobile application of all time. The grossed total revenue at least 8.13 billion dollars in 2019. Monster Strike battles against a boss monster by pulling and flying your characters to cause damage against it by hitting. You must defeat boss monsters by collecting, fusing, and evolving monsters to get gold, other items, and stronger monsters through gameplay to build a list of friends with monsters.

Pop Jump-Monster

China plagiarized Monster Strike. The game's name is Pop Jump-Monster. The graphic in this game is very similar to Monster Strike. Also, many characters in this game use the most popular anime in Japan without permission from the Japanese creators for instance the Chinese developers for this game stolen Pocket Monsters, One Piece, Dragonball, and so on. Then, You can play Monster Strike for free; on the other hand, you must pay a dollar to play Pop Jump-Monster. Once in a while, An advertisement for Monster Strike is indicated while you play Pop Jump-Monster. The players for Pop Jump-Monsters criticized that the co-starring of characters in this game were the same as Nintendo Smash Brothers, it was ridiculous to show up the advertisement of Monster Strike and pay a dollar to play this game, and this game was a terrible plagiarized game.

IV. Kantai Collection

Kantai Collection is one of the famous games in Japan. It is a Japanese free-to-play web browser game developed by Kadokawa Games and Kensuke Tanaka who is a game creator and published by DMM.com. The theme of this game is based on World War II warships and collaborates teenage girls and young adult women with personality characteristics reflecting the history of each ship. The game released on April 23, 2013. By April 2015, the number of registered for this game players was 3 million people. Kantai Collection made into manga series, light novels, and tabletop role-playing game from 2016 to 2019. Kantai Collection dominates the world by battling against other players with warships and customizing equipment. In addition, equipment in this game includes naval guns, anti-air guns, torpedo bombers, dive bombers, fighter aircraft, seaplanes, recon planes, radars, steam turbines, special artillery shells, depth charges, sonars, drum canisters, searchlights, and anti-torpedo bulges. Players can conduct Imperial Japanese Army, Kriegsmarine, Regia Marina, United States Navy, Royal Navy, Soviet Navy, Marine Nationale, Svenska Marinen, Royal Australian Navy, and Koninklijke Marine.

Paomei, Paoji, and Paojio

China plagiarized Kantai Collection. The game's name was Paomei. The story of Paomei was that an armored beautiful girl fights against another country when it is a war place in 2046. Paomei was an attractive game that there were cute characters and strategy was the most important in this game. Despite there were some parts that were similar to Kantai Collection, the graphic was different from the original. In other words, many people thought that there was no similarities point to plagiarize Kantai Collection when they played this game; however, when players observed this game very well, Paomei used favorite characters in Kantai Collection who changed their hair color, displayed an illustration of a tank from another game behind favorite characters in Japan, and used an illustration of the same pose as Kantai Collection. Indeed, Paomei was a plagiarized game that illustration of characters and tanks copied Kantai Collection and another tank game. The Chinese developer in Paomei decided to add some revisions and rename Paomei into Paoji because Paomei was a plagiarized game and made blames from players in Japan and China. After that, the Chinese developer turned Paoji into Paojio and revised the game. Many players in this game believed that the Chinese developer in Paojio improved the character's illustration, but the Chinese developer in Paojio changed a revision to equip weapons to the favorite characters in Japan, as a result, a development company in Paojio decided to come to an end the service for paojio to avoid making blame. Then, Paojio renamed Paomei again when it was the end of the service for Paojio. The Chinese developer in Paomei went development by using a Japanese song and beginning a mysterious cosplay short movie. It was a craziness revision. Indeed, there are still so many games that plagiarized Kantai Collection for instance Kantai Girls which copied characters from Kantai Collection as it is, Warship Girls which has displayed the biggest computer game market in the world, and so on.

Conclusion

That's all about this blog. China is still in the first line in the world or developed country by investing its money in the biggest companies, stealing technologies and cultures without intellectual property rights and patented technology, and getting independent as a company. I don't think China has the ability to create an original technology without other countries. Chinese knows the weakness of humans. If you know about Chinese history, you might not want to be involved in China. I'd appreciate it if you understand what China did to the world step by step by reading my blog to spread my blog out around the world. The next time, I am going to introduce anime characters and games that South Korea copied. Look forward to the blog. See you next time!!
